Bellegreen Visitors' Comments 2003

Winter 2003

A wonderful house in one of our favourite places. Brilliant family holiday to kick off 2003. Martin and Lucy (2 1/2 and 7 months) will long remember the fireworks display on the Green viewed from the lounge window. Reeth and its people is what hospitality in Yorkshire is all about.

Bellegreen with its facilities and comfort is a credit to it's owners. Thank you.

We like it very very much and much more when we'd located the pubs ! Loved the big table - enjoyed filling it with lots of food. Very warm and cosy cottage - everything we needed. Many thanks, it felt like home.

Another wonderful week, our third year, which once again went far too quickly. Weather has been great and sunny and the cottage has been warm and cosy. Hope to be back again next year. Thank you.

A great week - weather has been good to us - no rain, sunny and cool. What a wonderful house, we all loved it, a real home from home. Thank you. Hope to find a property like this ourselves to move back North.

Really great time - weather almost hot, walking in T-shirts all week. Bottom stairs a must to avoid especially when having had a drink. Shaving in front of a train wreck quite an experience. Good value meals at Bull. Fantastic cottage.

Spring 2003

Found the frying pan through reading the book ! Fell down bottom stairs before a drink and then subsequently afterwards. Cottage v.well equipped and very homely. Comfortable beds makes a pleasant change. Lovely homely feel to cottage. Great week top marks to owners and Dot. Best meal The Bolton Arms, Downholme and second best C.B.

Thank you for a wonderful stay - fantastic walks by the river with some amazing waterfalls. The house is warm and welcoming and extremely well equipped, we have thoroughly enjoyed our week.

Really loved your house, artwork, furnishings, location, etc, etc. Hope you get to enjoy it soon ! Did you arrange the weather too ? Brilliant the cottage was fantastic it was a holiday to remember. Thanks for the great holiday in a dream cottage. It was brill.

A good time had by all.

We have been coming to Reeth for many years. Bellegreen is by far the best. Lots of TVs but not mirrors ! Bolton Arms at Downholme good for food but they will only serve chips with food in bar not restaurant. Not good for us chip eating plebs !! C.B. still the best for food and Middle House. Hope to visit again.

Summer 2003

Have been many times to Reeth when the 3 lads were small or going through the teenage years. Now a short weekend with 3 lovely young babies in tow. Managed to get them all out for a walk on Sat up to Langthwaite and back. A couple of early morning walks for me, could not resist Fremington Edge and over. This really is God's Own Country. Monday now splitting up back to York, Leeds, Manchester ... wonder if we will return again as a family ?

We've had a wonderful time, despite the rain ! The cottage was excellent - very spacious for us. We have done lots of walks with bay Caitlin in a back-pack. She enjoyed the sheep and cows - her first holiday ! We have been meny times to Reeth, but this is our first stay at Bellegreen. We will return again soon ! What a lovely cottage, so spacious a real home from home, we had to juggle about with some furniture to barrier the stairs as Caitlin is only crawling and finds them a great excape route, other than that it was wonderful. Reeth is a lovely village with equally lovely people. Thanks for making it a great first holiday as a family. Would definitely recommend Bellegreen Cottage 100%.

Cottage is lovely, we loved all the wee touches, like soap, teabags, loo roll, etc ! Reeth is lovely too, very safe for kids. Forbidden Corner was great, but book in advance ! Arkle Riding Centre good too, great for the kids but padded seat required for those inexperienced big kids ! Bridge Inn has great pool table.

The cottage was really nice and felt like home straight away ! This second week really flew by and we are all sad to be leaving ! We will definitely be coming again - Reeth is beautiful.

Autumn 2003

Excellent cottage, beautiful village - very friendly. Superb walks from Reeth with spectacular views. Coal fire very cosy !

We last came here in October 2001 and couldn't believe that 2 years on how immaculate Bellgreen still is - the furniture didn't even look worn. We had a fabulous time. Reeth is stunning. This time around Joshua is 2 1/2 years and loved the sheep, donkeys, cows etc and the beautiful playground next to the doctor's surgery. Sophie (7 months) loved it too ! Will be back next year. (with new baby due in April 2004 !) If we win the lottery in the meantime we'll be making you an offer for Bellegreen !!! An excellent time had by all. P.S. The only downside is that the Black Bull no longer do chicken and mushroom pies !!!!!

WELL !?! we were determined to find something Bellegreen didn't have and we thought we were going to have a LONG list. But as the week went on we disciovered more and more things and our list became shorter and shorter (and believe me we had some weird things on our list!). Eventually we are left with a list of one. We couldn't find an egg poacher ! (but I bet there is one, probably in a choice of colours!). We've had a fab week, some lovely walks, weather was pretty kind to us, pub food not too bad apart from Buck Hotel (not that good). An interesting trip to Richmond Theatre to see local society (good entertainment !!). WOULD RECOMMEND ANYONE STAYING HERE !! DOT. You do a grand job. Thanks.

Very enjoyable holiday, very impressed with cottage and village. Carol service in the pub Boxing Day a rare treat. Good walks from the door - may have to come back next year !
